R Rangarajan [Ranga] is a Former CEO, HCL Healthcare; has over 22 years of rich and varied experience across industries (Healthcare, IT and Education) and geographies. He is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Lucknow. Additionally, he has certifications on Disruptive Strategy and Leading with Finance from Harvard Business School [HBX Online]. He started his career in in 1996 in Sales and grew from a Marketing Executive to Account Manager before leading Pre-Sales upon his return to India in 2010. Having program managed a large transformational initiative, Ranga became ardently interested in change & transformation. His keen interest areas include understanding triggers to make companies and individuals successful. Realizing the importance of the last mile execution, he rolled up his sleeves to become the Chief Delivery Officer of HCL Services and led a team of over 10,000 resources. With P&L responsibilities and attention to execution detail, he took on a challenging role to turn around the HCL Healthcare business as its CEO. HCL Healthcare is the youngest company within the $10 bn + HCL group. What he achieved in 3 years is a commendable story of exponential growth with a focus on a balanced score card approach. The success mantra to transform business was to encourage positive conversations, reach full potential by establishing a culture of demanding from each other and ensure ruthless execution of plans. He has worked at renowned companies such as Apollo Hospitals, Syntel Inc, Cognizant and HCL Technologies in the past. His unique experience spans across business development to execution with a transformation agenda in place. What he brings to the table is the acumen to balance pragmatism and creativity. As a skilled team builder, mentor, and strategic planner he has led successful customer partnerships. Ranga is passionate about design thinking and innovation with a data driven analytical approach. In addition to the above, Ranga likes to travel and is an avid reader, movie watcher and writes in his free time. He is a runner and hopes to go on regular treks to the Himalayas. He has authored The Book: A Train of Thoughts, a book of short stories, the proceeds of which went on to support differently abled children.
